Preparing Artwork
Selecting the right artwork for your printing job, whether it's a flyer or a billboard, is very important, and often a little daunting.
To lend a hand, we can offer you professional design services at really competitive rates, and work with you to create just the image you need. If you're happy to create and upload the artwork yourself, we would recommend you to follow these basic guidelines for an easy and hassle-free upload.
- Choose the category and particular type that you want to print (i.e. 6 page DL brochures)
- Download its printing template.
- Match your artwork with the template provided. Please pay attention to the trim, bleed and areas of the artwork. We might have to refuse the artwork if these requirements are ignored.
- Outline all the fonts (convert to curves). Some fonts may not be compatible for printing, so to avoid any font conversion and mismatch with the original, we insist on outlining all the fonts in the artwork.
- Prepare Press Quality PDF. If you are working from Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark Xpress or CorelDraw, the standard settings Press Quality PDF should be enough. In addition as PDF Standard you may select: PDF/X-1:2001. Compatibility: Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3).
- Press Quality PDF would be sufficient for most cases.
- If you are printing with Pantone colours, please check that the tick is removed from the selection: All Spots to process. (Output>Ink manager)
- Upload your artwork PDF when ordering the print
